Short Bio: Dr. Yahya Al-Salqan is a successful entrepreneur and inventor with experience in the technology industry. He is the President and CEO of Jaffa.Net Software, a leading software development company. He has also held senior roles at Sun Microsystems and was a professor of Computer Science at West Virginia University. Dr. Al-Salqan has several patents and has published over 50 articles in the field. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois. In his free time, he enjoys running, music, and modern art.

What was your first touchpoint with DLT & Blockchain? My first touchpoint with Blockchain was in 2017 where I tried to develop blockchain applications. In 2019, we developed VeriCert as the first blockchain application to publish and verify universities and colleges degrees. Currently working on a startup in dNFT.
What fascinates you most about DLT? It is a revolutionary approach and a combination of technology, freedom, and economics. DLT and Blockchain are disrupting the current norms of doing business by putting the power in the hands of the individuals instead of trusted third parties.
Her favorite DLT protocol/project: I actually like the dynamic NFT (dNFT) as well as Bitcoin Lightning. Dynamic NFT offers a wide range of applications and provides the ability to use NFT for more utility. Whereas Lightning solves a significant performance issue of bitcoin transaction to become faster (in seconds) and with much lower cost. It can be the payment rail of the future.
