Why is Bitcoin interesting? My fascination with Bitcoin extends beyond its revolutionary technology or its potential for financial freedom; it mirrors the essence of my journey from a small town in the Philippines to becoming a global leader in technology and business innovation. With a track record of spearheading digital transformation in the Philippines, identifying 1B+ opportunities through implementing data-driven methodologies at Amazon, and now championing AI and data storytelling at Allianz, I see Bitcoin as the epitome of how technology can redefine the boundaries of what’s possible. It’s not just a currency; it’s a testament to the power of innovation, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of excellence—qualities that have been the cornerstone of my career. My engagement with Bitcoin is not just about embracing the future of finance, but also about embodying the change and leadership I’ve been advocating across various global platforms, from INSEAD to the digital coaching arenas of Joy Rivera International. In this light, Bitcoin is not merely an investment; it’s a reflection of my commitment to pushing the boundaries and inspiring others to do the same, leveraging technology for impactful change.
My touchpoints with Bitcoin so far: I have used cryptocurrency trading as a way to save on foreign exchange fees when I was in INSEAD. My monies were in Philippine Peso and I was spending in EUR. The crypto-trading platform showed that even if arbitrage is not always positive, instant daytime trading is way cheaper than usual foreign exchange rates, comparing from 3-5% per transaction in traditional banks or credit cards, vs an average of 0.5% in crypto-trading.
