Why is ReFi interesting? First, ReFi constitutes a transparent and accessible alternative to traditional financial system which promotes enhancing and taking advantage of natural and societal systems over short-term exploitation. Second, ReFi recognizes the inherent value of ecosystems, thus his role is to ensure that economic activities are not extractive, but derived from clean and natural sources. Then, ReFi heads for more balanced and just economy through seeking a balance between profits and societal & environmental considerations. Finally, ReFi refers to a concept that integrates financial practices around social responsibility, sustainability and regeneration.
My touchpoints with blockchain and ReFi so far: I try to replace single-use plastic packaging, bottles, and containers with reusable products or I eliminate packaging when possible. Then, I repair, rather than replace, broken items. I choose sustainable products like these products that last longer and that can be reused. I also look for the companies that adhere to fair labor and ethical production of goods that avoid wasting too much and protect the environment.
