In light of recent events, including the livestream appearance of the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center (FSBC) Director, Professor Co-Pierre Georg, we would like to clarify our position as the Web3 Talents team. During the livestream, Professor Georg made critical remarks about Bitcoin, which prompted reactions from parts of the broader community.
We acknowledge that the points raised by Professor Georg have been widely discussed within various online and academic circles. However, this statement does not seek to engage with those specific arguments. Rather, we wish to reaffirm our position and the foundational principles of the Web3 Talents initiative.
Historically, the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center has been recognized for its commitment to fostering research and education around open blockchain networks, particularly Bitcoin and Ethereum. This approach was championed by our late founder, Professor Philipp Sandner, whose vision and leadership laid the groundwork for the Web3 Talents program.
Today, under the leadership of Professor Georg, the FSBC remains an open platform for dialogue and exploration across the entire spectrum of blockchain technologies. While there are differing views within the team, including on topics such as Bitcoin, we appreciate Professor Georg’s continued support for maintaining an environment that encourages diverse perspectives and critical discourse.
The Web3 Talents program continues to operate in alignment with its original mission: to educate and empower individuals to engage meaningfully with blockchain and Web3 technologies. We remain committed to providing a neutral and inclusive space for participants to explore the opportunities and challenges in this rapidly evolving field.
We are grateful for the ongoing support from our community and look forward to fostering further constructive discussions on the future of blockchain technologies.
