WM Gruppe, a financial market expert since 1947, has been providing data and information services to help companies make informed decisions and contribute to the development of financial markets. Its most successful brand, WM Datenservice, serves as the central contact point and data provider for the global financial market, responsible for allocating German Securities Identification Numbers (WKN) and International Security Identification Numbers (ISIN) of German issuers.
In response to the increasing decentralization of data in a dynamic data-driven world, WM Datenservice has developed a new product called International Token Reference (ITR), which enables the processing and custody of digital assets in existing settlement systems by providing asset-specific and token-specific data. Working with the International Token Standardization Association (ITSA) and based on its Tokenbase, ITR consolidates and structures the information of all important digital assets, assigning WKNs and ISINs to them, and providing data on the type of token or ledger, the hash function, and the consensus algorithm.
WM Datenservice has also launched “Tokenization as a Service” (TaaS), opening its interface infrastructure for crypto securities. TaaS captures and structures data from issued securities and provides technical and regulatory guidance to support the issuance of new digital securities. WM Datenservice ensures compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as anti-money laundering and know-your-customer rules, to provide a secure and trustworthy ecosystem for digital assets.
