Why is DeFi interesting? In my point of view the question is not is DeFi or Digital Assets are coming, the question is more when it take over from Traditional Finance. By eliminating traditional intermediaries like banks, DeFi empowers individuals to control their assets and participate in activities such as lending, borrowing, and trading through smart contracts. This innovation enhances efficiency, reduces costs, and increases accessibility to financial tools. With its open-source nature fostering continuous development, DeFi is redefining the global financial landscape and creating new opportunities for inclusion and innovation. Digital Bonds / Crypto Bonds will be the future in the Fixed Income space.
My touchpoints with DeFi so far: I follow the development since years in the crypto space, with the first issuance of a Crypto Bonds / Digital Bonds it was always to my heart, to see development in that space and now with MiFID II and MiCAR we have the regulatory guard rails to develop a liquid secondary market in the space and go the next step in digital bonds and in the DeFi development. FCA has now as well published a roadmap, this showcase that DeFi is something which can not be stopped anymore.
