Why is DeFi interesting? DeFi (Decentralized Finance) is fascinating because it revolutionizes traditional financial systems by removing intermediaries like banks, enabling peer-to-peer transactions on blockchain networks. It empowers individuals globally by offering open access to financial services such as lending, borrowing, trading, and earning yields without the need for a centralized authority. DeFi is programmable, allowing for the creation of innovative financial instruments and automated processes through smart contracts. This fosters transparency, reduces costs, and provides users with greater control over their assets. Additionally, DeFi’s open nature promotes financial inclusion, particularly for those in regions with limited access to traditional banking services.
My touchpoints with DeFi so far: My touchpoints with blockchain and DeFi have been both academic and practical. I’ve completed courses on DLT, Bitcoin, DeFi and NFTs to deepen my understanding of these innovative systems. My personal investments in cryptocurrencies have provided hands-on experience with decentralized platforms and wallet management. Additionally, I’m actively exploring the DeFi ecosystem independently and participating in the DeFi Talent program, where I collaborate with others to analyze and discuss crypto trends and applications. This combination of education, practice, and networking has allowed me to build a solid foundation in blockchain and DeFi.
