Why is DeFi interesting? For me, DeFi is fascinating because it empowers individuals by allowing full control of their financial assets without relying on intermediaries. Coming from a system where trust is placed in banks and institutions, DeFi represents a shift to transparency and fairness through blockchain technology. I’m drawn to how it opens financial opportunities for anyone with an internet connection, removing barriers like high fees and centralized control. Personally, the innovation in lending, staking, and tokenization inspires me to explore its real-world applications further.
My touchpoints with DeFi so far: I first encountered blockchain technology through cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. My interest grew as I explored DeFi protocols such as Uniswap for decentralized trading and Aave for lending and borrowing assets. During an innovation process at work, I was introduced to internal tools leveraging blockchain to securely and reliably share data with partner countries in a tamper-proof manner. This sparked my curiosity and inspired me to explore the broader applications of Decentralized Finance.
