Why is DeFi interesting? DeFi is captivating because it democratizes finance, allowing anyone with an internet connection to access services regardless of their background. It leverages blockchain technology for transparency, with all transactions recorded publicly and immutably. This fosters trust and reduces the risk of fraud. By cutting out intermediaries like banks, DeFi offers greater efficiency and potentially lower costs. Furthermore, it unlocks innovation, enabling novel financial products and services previously unimaginable. Ultimately, DeFi empowers individuals with control over their own finances, promoting a more inclusive and equitable financial system.
My touchpoints with DeFi so far: My touchpoints with blockchain and DeFi have primarily been through private usage, exploring different DeFi protocols and dApps to understand their functionalities and potential. I’ve also conducted analyses of blockchain technology and DeFi trends as part of my work, researching their implications for various industries. Within my work, I’ve contributed to minor projects involving blockchain applications, such as exploring the use of smart contracts for supply chain management. Additionally, I’ve utilized blockchain explorers and analytical tools to track on-chain metrics and gain insights into DeFi markets. These experiences have provided me with a foundational understanding of blockchain and DeFi, and I continue to learn and explore this rapidly evolving space.
