Why is DeFi interesting? The evolution of decentralized finance into a global socio-economic ecosystem holds the potential to close the divide between human labour and economic value creation, and to lay the foundation for socio-economic systems which are not built on capital and do not rely on consumption. DeFi is a key component of the innovations currently moving humanity into its next industrial revolution towards decentralized governance, transparent economic activity, and the removal of third-party intermediary interference in the exchange of value between peers. Blockchain-driven decentralization and real-world tokenization (“asset” omitted due to its misleading nature) present the first real opportunity for the creation of individual sovereign economic agency since the initial movement to centralize money began four centuries ago. The only good system is a sound system.
My touchpoints with DeFi so far: Study, analysis, ideation, modelling, consultation.
