Why is DeFi interesting? DeFi, or decentralized finance, is interesting because it eliminates intermediaries like banks, allowing for direct peer-to-peer financial transactions on blockchain networks. This improves financial inclusion by enabling anyone with internet access to use services like lending, borrowing, and trading. DeFi systems are transparent, as all transactions are recorded on public ledgers, ensuring trust and accountability. Smart contracts automate processes, reducing costs and improving efficiency. As a result, DeFi is driving innovation in financial products and challenging traditional financial systems.

My touchpoints with DeFi so far: I have actively explored blockchain and DeFi through personal investments, gaining hands-on experience with decentralized platforms and cryptocurrencies. This has allowed me to understand how smart contracts facilitate peer-to-peer transactions and automate processes like staking, lending, and yield farming. By engaging with these tools, I have developed insights into the opportunities and risks of DeFi, including volatility, security considerations, and market trends. Additionally, I stay informed on advancements in the space through continuous research and participation in programs like DeFi Talents, where I deepen my knowledge of decentralized finance ecosystems and their real-world applications.
