Why is Bitcoin interesting? Bitcoin is decentralized, scarce, and censorship-resistant digital money of the internet. With a fixed supply of 21 million bitcoin, it could function as a hedge against inflation and offers an alternative to fiat currencies controlled by governments. Its borderless, permissionless nature enables anyone worldwide to store and transfer value without relying on banks. Bitcoin’s transparency and security are ensured by blockchain technology, making transactions verifiable and resistant to fraud. Ultimately, Bitcoin challenges the traditional financial system by giving individuals full sovereignty over their wealth.

My touchpoints with Bitcoin so far: My first contact with cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin was in 2020 during the DeFi summer. Since 2022, I have been a Bitcoin-only user and fully committed to exploring the Bitcoin rabbit hole. Since then, I have tried to deepened my understanding of the economic, technical and philosophical aspects of Bitcoin. I run my own full node and have been experimenting with the Lightning Network to explore its potential for scalability and instant payments.
