Why is Bitcoin interesting? Bitcoin is interesting because it attempts to create a global, digital currency that is not controlled by any government or financial institution. It offers an alternative to traditional banking and payment systems, where transactions are secure and fast, with very low transaction costs. Furthermore, its decentralised nature means that it cannot be manipulated or disabled in the same way as a centralised currency can. This makes it attractive for people seeking financial independence and privacy, as well as for speculators looking for potential growth opportunities.
